Lower School (Kindergarten through Sixth Grade)
- Complete the application and return it with the $50 application fee to the school office. Please include the academic information requested below:
- A copy of your child’s academic transcript from their present school (if applicable). The transcript contains grades and national testing information.
- A copy of your child’s most recent report card (if applicable).
- A copy of your child’s birth certificate.
- Download the Pastor Recommendation and Teacher Recommendation forms and follow the directions on the forms, which includes timely completion and mailing of forms. Students entering kindergarten are not required to submit a Teacher Recommendation form.
- Admissions Office Assessment. Once the application and academic information is received, the admissions office representative will review the data and make a preliminary determination of the child’s qualification for admission. If the review indicates that basic admission standards have been met, entrance testing (if applicable) and an interview will be arranged by the school office. If not, parents will be notified as to why admission is not advisable.
- Entrance Test. Harvest Christian Academy administers an entrance test to ascertain your child’s academic status. All incoming Kindergarten students will be tested unless currently enrolled in Harvest Christian Academy’s Preschool.
- School Interview. The principal (or his/her designee), parents and the child will meet for an entrance interview.
- Enrollment Form. Once the student is accepted for admission, an enrollment form, along with a non-refundable enrollment fee must be sent into the Academy in order to reserve the seat.
When all the above steps have been completed your child will be placed on the class roster you have selected, provided there is an opening. In the event two children are applying for the last open slot in a class, the date that this process was completed will determine class placement and a wait list will begin.
We want to make the process welcoming and affirming for children and their parents. The admissions criteria consider these three areas: spiritual compatibility, grade level academic achievement, and personal character and behavior. If we can assist you at anytime during this process, please do not hesitate to contact the HCA Admissions Office at 847-214-3200.
